Will the SSD provide enough water?

To determine whether the sand storage dam will provide enough water, first the water demand of the community needs to be determined, based on the size of the community, their cattle, irrigation need and other activities water is involved, like brick making. The page How much water do we need? describes how to determine the water demand.

Also, the water yield from the sand storage dam needs to be determined, based on its design and properties of the building site. A sand storage dam calculation tool can be found at the page How much water might the sand storage dam provide?.

To figure out if the sand storage dam provides enough water, the water demand and water yield need to be compared. If the water yield is higher than the water demand, the sand storage dam might provide enough water.
